Hired a Clinician? Make These Seven Group Practice Website Updates

You’re hiring a clinician to join your team – congrats! Now it’s time to update your website to reflect growing to a group practice.

I’m super duper proud of you for growing the business.

But also as your business bestie, I’ve gotta let you know that you still have some work ahead of you… specifically for your website.

When you first launched your website, it was all about you. Aka full of “I” statements, your headshot on every single page, and a scheduling link that points directly to your calendar.

But now? You’ve got a team. You’ve officially shifted from “me” to “we”. And your group practice website needs to show it!

Potential clients should instantly know they have more than one provider option, and your website should guide them towards the right fit.

Lucky for you, I have just the list of edits that you need to make, and why!

Shift Those “I’s” to “We’s”

Now that you are a “we”, you need to make sure the “I’s” are updated in every nook and cranny of your website. Updating your language is one of the most important website updates for a group private practice. While you will always be the founder, you need to equally showcase your team to let potential clients and referral sources know that the business is now bigger than just one person.

Create a Page for Each Clinician in Your Group Practice

Chances are you have an about page or section on your site specifically for you. Now it’s time to duplicate that page for each clinician that joins your team. It’s important to have a specific URL for each clinician on the team, especially when you are ready to let referral sources know about your expansion so they can meet your newest addition!

Update Your Home Page “Team” Section

Located one to two scrolls down on your home page should be a section with information about the team. Right now, it may just be about you but we’ve gotta update that! Add your new clinician’s photo, name, and specialty so clients immediately know your group practice has grown!

Build a New “Meet the Team” Page

A team page gives a quick glance of your entire team. On this page, you should highlight your collective values and list each clinician with a short bio and their specialties and populations served. Then link that to each clinician’s individual page for folks to learn more about them!

Pro Tip: Each clinician should have their own canvas on the team page. That way, you can rearrange these easily to list the clinician with the most availability first. This helps with filling a clinician’s caseload!

Update Your Booking Flow for a Group Practice

Unless you will continue to be responsible for all discovery calls, your booking flow should no longer default to your calendar alone. Adjust your workflow so clients can choose their provider or request the best match.

Change Language on Navigation Bar

If your navigation bar currently says “Meet *Your Name*”, make sure you swap that out to now say “Meet The Team”. When they click on that, it should take them to the Team Page!

Update Your Photos

If your website has several images of you, it’s time to make room for your team! Make sure you add individual clinician photos, plus group shots if you have them. I’m a huge fan of brand photos, but would recommend getting these done a few months in when the clinician is settled into their new role!

With these changes, your website will continue to work for you AND your new team member to fill your caseloads!
