5 Frequently Asked Questions for Private Practice Home Page

Your Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section is doing more work than you think… and when written intentionally, frequently asked questions for private practices can be one of the most powerful parts of your website.

It’s a sought out section of everyone’s website where potential clients go to get the TL;DR of working with you.

Yes, the website copy in general is very important – it’s conversational and validating.

But the FAQs? These get to be direct and straight to the point!

It’s the perfect spot to answer all the questions you get all the time from clients…. Like what can I expect during our first session?

And it’s a great spot to answer questions that us as clinicians are also looking for when we are trying to refer… Like does this therapist take the same insurance as me? If so, we should def connect!

But it also gives you a space to answer the questions you WISH people would ask you without having to try and weave it into the rest of your copy.

Here are the 5 FAQs I’d include on your home page –

The 5 FAQs Every Private Practice Should Include On Their Home Page

Do you take insurance?

This is probably the most asked question you’re gonna get, and it’s a way to either talk about the insurances you take, your private pay rate, superbills, or the Equity Pricing you offer.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

You could really use “virtual” or “in-person” sessions. Whichever one you think your target audience is looking for more… use that!

How do I know we’ll be a good fit?

The work we do as clinicians is relational, so being a good fit for a client is best for all parties involved. This question allows you to state your values and your personality and point them to the part of your sight to further confirm good-fit-status.

You’ll write me a meal plan, right?

This question addresses an assumption people may have about working with a therapist or dietitian. Other options can include… You’ll just tell me what I need to do, right? What if I don’t have a big enough problem? How long will this take to feel better? What if I’m not sure what I need? What if I haven’t been diagnosed with *insert your specialty here*?

What can I expect in our first session?

Uncertainty keeps people stuck. Use this question to walk potential clients through what a first session actually looks like. The more predictable you can make this process, the easier it’ll be for them to reach out.

Plug & Play Answers You Can Use

Ready to update your FAQ section? Here’s some answers to the questions above that you can copy and paste directly into your website (small tweaks may be required!).

Q1: Do you take insurance?

A1: We are a private pay practice and do not accept insurance directly. However, we’re happy to provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement, depending on your plan.

Or…

Yes, we are in-network with several insurance plans including BCBS, Aetna, and United. Coverage and benefits can vary depending on your specific plan though, so we recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to understand your deductible, copay, and any session limits. If you’d like support navigating this process, click here to access our Benefits Check guidelines.

Q2: Do you offer virtual sessions?

A2: Yes! All sessions are offered virtually, allowing you to access care from the comfort of your own space. Virtual sessions offer the same level of support and connection as in-person care, without the added stress of commuting or scheduling logistics.

Q3: How do I know we’ll be a good fit?

A3: The relationship matters just as much as the tools we use, and we want to make sure you find someone who matches your personality and what you need on your recovery journey. You can get to know each of our clinicians here (link to your Meet the Team page!). All of our therapists are trained in EMDR and Intuitive Eating, making us great fits for anyone navigating an eating disorder, disordered eating, and/or trauma.

Q4: You’ll write me a meal plan, right?

A4: We don’t provide rigid meal plans. Instead, we focus on building skills, awareness, and flexibility around food so you can make confident decisions in your day-to-day life. Our approach is personalized, supportive, and designed to adapt with you — not something you have to “follow perfectly.”

Q5: What can I expect in our first session?

A5: Your first session is a conversation, not a test or an evaluation. We’ll spend time getting to know you, your history, concerns, goals, and what’s brought you here. There’s no pressure to have the “right” answers. This is a space to slow down, ask questions, and begin building a plan that feels realistic and supportive for you.

These questions are awesome for a Home Page – aka the place where people are just trying to decide if they should take that first step. You can also duplicate this section onto your Contact Page.

If you have more pages (think: a page for each of the specialties you offer), I’d recommend writing a different set of questions and answers that are more tailored to what that page is about vs. general FAQs!
